We are deeply saddened to share that our founder and dear friend, Gil (Jeremy Gill/@giltattoo/‘Gil the Drill’), passed away in Brisbane in March 2024. Gil was an absolute giant in the Tattoo Community, known for his incredible talent, creativity, and his huge personality! He leaves behind a legacy that has touched the lives of many, and is greatly missed by his family, friends, clients, and colleagues.
In the wake of this loss, we would like to announce that Tattoo Machine Studio is now under the ownership of Tom Rollandi. Tom (@tom_rollandi) has been an integral member of the Tattoo Machine family for many years and had the privilege of working closely with Gil. Tom brings a deep understanding of Gil’s vision and a commitment to continuing the high standards of artistry and customer care that our studio is known for.
Under Tom’s leadership, Tattoo Machine will continue to grow and evolve. We are excited to welcome both permanent and guest artists to our team, each bringing their unique styles and perspectives to the studio. Tom, along with Martin (@sage.tattoo), Rhys (@pokestaytattoo), Arina (@sober_ag) and Ness (@inkfullness_), invites you to visit us, share your stories about Gil, and discuss your tattoo ideas.
For those who have unfinished tattoos or had planned future work with Gil, we understand the importance of completing these pieces with the same level of care and attention that Gil would have provided. Please reach out to Tom to discuss your needs. We have ownership of all of Gil’s sketches and flash art and can match you with an artist who can continue or complete your work. If you’re interested in exploring a new direction, we are here to help you bring your vision to life.
